TEHRAN: Iran has announced that it will resume air travel with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) starting July 1, following a ceasefire agreement with the United States.

According to international media, the announcement was made by Majid Akhavan, head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization.

He said that aviation authorities in Iran and the UAE have issued all necessary technical and administrative approvals, removing obstacles that had previously halted flight operations between the two countries.

In the initial phase, only Iranian airlines will operate flights between Tehran and Dubai. Later, once further arrangements are completed, Emirati and other international carriers will also be allowed to operate on the route.

Iranian officials added that the restoration of other international air routes is also under consideration, but final decisions will depend on national security assessments and approval from relevant government bodies.

Meanwhile, Dubai International Airport and Dubai Airports have advised passengers to check with their respective airlines for the latest flight updates.

Officials also warned that due to regional security conditions, some international flight schedules may still be subject to change.

Iran had previously suspended a large portion of its airspace and several international routes following recent conflict-related security concerns, but is now gradually restoring operations after the ceasefire.
