Israel Targets Petrochemical Complex in Iran’s Mahshahr

TEHRAN: Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, a key petrochemical complex in Mahshahr, located in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province, has reportedly come under Israeli attack.

According to the Iranian news agency Fars, a local security official confirmed that Israeli forces targeted the Karun Petrochemical Company in Mahshahr.

The official stated that several parts of the facility sustained damage, although detailed assessments and possible casualty figures have not yet been released.

The Israeli military also confirmed the strike, stating in a brief statement that its air force had targeted multiple sites within the petrochemical complex in southwestern Iran. Further operational details are expected to be released later.

Mahshahr is considered one of Iran’s major industrial and energy hubs, hosting several important petrochemical installations. The latest strike is being viewed as a significant escalation in the ongoing military confrontation between Iran and Israel, raising concerns over regional stability and potential impacts on global energy markets.
