Israeli Airstrike in Yemen Kills Houthi PM Ahmed Ghaleb

SANA’A: An Israeli airstrike struck a residence in the Hadda district of Sana’a, killing Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb. Three others were also reported dead in the attack.

Ghaleb, appointed by the Houthi movement in August 2024, was a member of the Supreme Political Council, the governing body of Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen. His death represents a significant blow to the Houthi administration.

Israeli military sources indicated that other senior Houthi officials may have also been killed. The Israeli government stated the strike was a response to ongoing missile and drone attacks from the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

The Yemeni Ministry of Defense denied that the attack targeted Houthi leadership, accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza and vowing to continue operations against Israeli interests.

The incident highlights the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Houthi movement, with broader regional implications.
