ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday administered oath to Justice Sarfaraz Dogar as the acting chief justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the President’s House in Islamabad in which lawyers, judges and government officials also participated.
Justice Dogar was appointed as the acting Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court after the appointment of former Chief Justice of the IHC Aamir Farooq as a judge of the Supreme Court.
Justice Dogar will hold the charge of acting chief justice till the appointment of a permanent chief justice.
It may be recalled that five judges of the Islamabad High Court had written a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan on the issue of Justice Dogar’s transfer from Lahore High Court to the Islamabad High Court and had also raised objections regarding seniority.
