ISLAMABAD: The Henley Passport Index 2026 has been released, with Singapore retaining its position as the world’s most powerful passport, offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 192 destinations worldwide.
According to the latest rankings, Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates share second place with access to 188 destinations, while Sweden ranks third with visa-free access to 187 countries.
Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain occupy fourth place with access to 186 destinations. Austria, Greece, Malta, Portugal and Switzerland rank fifth with 185 destinations, while Hungary, Poland and the United Kingdom are sixth with access to 184 countries.
Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Slovakia and Slovenia share seventh place with access to 183 destinations. Croatia and Estonia rank eighth with 182 destinations, Liechtenstein and Lithuania are ninth with 181, while Iceland and the United States share 10th place with access to 180 destinations.
At the bottom of the index, Afghanistan remains the world’s weakest passport, ranking 103rd with visa-free access to 23 destinations. Syria is ranked 102nd with access to 26 destinations, while Iraq is 101st with 29 destinations.
Pakistan ranks 100th on the index, with Pakistani passport holders able to travel to 30 destinations visa-free or with visa-on-arrival. Yemen ranks 99th with access to 31 destinations, Somalia 98th with 33, Nepal 97th with 35, Bangladesh and North Korea share 96th with 36 destinations, Iran and the Palestinian Territories rank 95th with 38 destinations, while Eritrea is 94th with access to 39 destinations.
The Henley Passport Index ranks passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without obtaining a visa in advance or by receiving a visa on arrival. It is widely regarded as a key global measure of passport strength and international travel freedom.
