KP Cabinet Approves E-Transfer Policy for Teachers
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has approved an e-transfer policy for teachers, marking a significant shift in the province’s educational administration.
The new policy incorporates key factors such as the duration of deployment at schools, student-teacher ratios, and annual performance indicators.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi stated that the implementation of the new policy would ensure the dominance of merit and transparency in teacher postings and transfers. He said the e-transfer policy was a much-needed step in the right direction. Additionally, despite more than 400 requests for transfers, none had been accepted under the previous system, highlighting the government’s commitment to fairness and merit-based decisions.
The chief minister also directed other departments to introduce similar merit-based transfer policies to promote transparency across the provincial bureaucracy.
The e-transfer policy reflects the government’s broader vision of strengthening the education sector and promoting accountability in public service. The success of this policy could serve as a model for other provinces to adopt similar measures in their public sector reforms, said the chief minister.
