RAWALPINDI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi joined a sit-in protest alongside the sisters of Imran Khan on Adiala Road, escalating the political situation in the area.

Police placed barriers and sealed the road to restrict movement near the protest site. The chief minister arrived with official protocol at the Factory Chowk checkpoint, where Aleema Khan was already present along with other family members.

Several leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, including Salman Akram Raja, Shahid Khattak, Naeem Haider Panjutha, and Niazullah Niazi, were also present along with party workers.

A heavy police contingent was deployed at multiple locations along the road to maintain law and order as the protest continued.

The development signals a significant escalation in ongoing political demonstrations, with senior leadership directly participating alongside the former prime minister’s family.
