KP Police Conducted 3,277 Operations in 2025; 459 Terrorists Killed

PESHAWAR: A comprehensive report released by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police highlights significant progress in counter-terrorism operations during 2025.

The police conducted 3,277 intelligence-based operations, resulting in the killing of 459 terrorists and the arrest of over 1,300 militants. Despite facing 536 attacks on police personnel, the number of police casualties was limited to 159 due to operational preparedness.

Under the leadership of IGP Zulfiqar Hameed, the operations included the capture of 29 high-value targets, and large quantities of weapons, explosives, and grenades were seized. The police also registered 1,762 terrorism-related cases throughout the year.

In addition, the force carried out more than 18,000 search-and-strike operations, set up over 95,000 snap checkpoints, checked 300,000 homes, seized over 30,000 illegal weapons, and conducted extensive bomb disposal and K9 unit operations.

Police infrastructure was reconstructed, the Peshawar Mega Safe City project reached its final stages, and community policing initiatives resolved thousands of disputes. Public service apps were launched, driving schools were revived, and over Rs 121 crore were spent on the welfare of police officers.

IGP Zulfiqar Hameed praised the police force for their sacrifices and reaffirmed that 2026 will continue to see strict action against terrorists, with the police remaining active on all fronts to ensure law and order in the province.
