ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Wednesday said that India would be given an “immediate, effective and decisive response” to any act of aggression, reiterating Pakistan’s firm stance on national security and sovereignty.
Speaking during a media interaction in Islamabad, the minister said that even one year after the Pahalgam incident, India had failed to provide any credible evidence to support its claims. He described the incident as reflective of a “baseless, illogical and arrogant mindset.”
Tarar questioned the credibility of India’s narrative, pointing out that the First Information Report (FIR) related to the incident was registered within just 10 minutes, suggesting that the content may have been pre-prepared. He added that India had yet to give satisfactory answers to serious questions raised about the so-called “false flag operation.”
The minister further said that terrorism remains India’s internal issue, which it attempts to externalize, while reiterating that the Kashmir dispute is an internationally recognized issue rather than a domestic matter as portrayed by India.
He noted that not only international media but also segments of Indian civil society, politicians and think tanks had raised serious concerns regarding the Pahalgam incident. According to him, Indian media failed to present any solid or verifiable evidence and instead promoted a fabricated narrative.
Tarar emphasized that Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts were being acknowledged globally and reaffirmed that the country would not compromise on its sovereignty, dignity or security under any circumstances.
He added that the entire nation remains united in its resolve to eliminate terrorism and defend the country, warning that any misadventure by India would be met with a strong and decisive response.
