Interior minister says 23 Afghan nationals caught from CM's rally; info minister sees bad days for KP chief minister.

ISLAMABAD: Two federal ministers on Saturday warned KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who is leading a rally from Peshawar to Islamabad’s D Chowk, not to cross the red lines otherwise the law would take its course.

Talking to media persons in Islamabad and Lahore, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Information Minister Atta Tarar said that the main purpose of the PTI to hold protests before the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s summit in Islamabad was to sabotage the international event.

The interior Minister said that the participants of the rally being led by Gandapur from Peshawar were carrying arms, tear gas shells and batons. Moreover, he said that at least 23 Afghan nationals were arrested from the rally near Islamabad.

He said that the participants of the rally also attacked police and injured around 30th of them near Islamabad yesterday.

Atta Tarar added that the PTI had been involved in politics of confrontation and sabotage and in 2014 laid siege to the Ted Zone of the federal capital for 126 days to sabotage the visit of the Chinese President to Pakistan.

The Minister said that at a time when Pakistan was progressing well and economy was stabilizing with foreign dignitaries visiting the country the PTI had started another wave of protests for no reason only to sabotage the country’s progress and create problems for the government.

The minister said he could see a very horrible response to what the KP chief minister was thinking of doing in Islamabad.
