ISLAMABAD: After Senate, the National Assembly also approved the 26th constitutional amendment with a two-third majority.
The bill will now be presented to President Asif Ali Zardari for his consent to become a law.
Like in the upper house of parliament, when the bill was presented for voting, 12 members of the opposition voted against its two causes. However, there was no opposition to it later as the opposition members walked out in protest.

As many as six disgruntled opposition members also voted in support of the bill. Five of them belonged to the PTI party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan and one to the PML-Q.
After the passage of the bill, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq adjourned the session of the house till 5pm on Monday.
