National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has released its overall performance report of twenty years. The report said Rs 714 billion has been recovered from corrupt people and deposited in the national treasury, while, 3,645 corruption cases were filed in the courts.
The performance report said that NAB has received more than 475,000 corruption complaints across the country during the last 20 years. Meanwhile, the NAB received more than Rs 69 billion through voluntary and plea bargaining. Rs 121 billion was recovered in bank loan default cases, Rs 44 billion in court fines and Rs 402 billion indirectly, as per the report.
Since its inception, the NAB has filed 3645 cases of corruption in the courts while 1247 cases are pending. The NAB is still conducting 930 inquiries and 346 investigations.
