Naqvi Calls for Global Cooperation to Tackle Security Challenges

NEW YORK: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called for greater international cooperation to address evolving global security challenges, saying countries must work together to promote peace and combat crime through modern technology.

Speaking at the United Nations Police Summit at the UN Headquarters, Naqvi said it was an honour to address the gathering. He noted that the world is facing multiple and increasingly complex challenges that require coordinated international efforts.

The interior minister stressed that sustainable peace can only be achieved through stronger cooperation among nations. He added that the use of modern technology could play a key role in preventing crime and improving law enforcement capabilities worldwide.

Meeting with UN Secretary-General

On the sidelines of the summit, Naqvi met United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres at the UN Headquarters, where the two exchanged views on the regional situation and key international issues.

They discussed Pakistan’s mediation efforts to help resolve conflicts in West Asia, as well as the country’s longstanding contribution to United Nations peacekeeping missions.

Guterres appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and thanked the country for its continued commitment to UN peacekeeping operations and advancing global peace and security.

Naqvi said that despite numerous challenges, Pakistan’s leadership under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir had acted responsibly to promote regional peace and stability while safeguarding human lives.
