SRINAGAR: The number of political activists and rights defenders belonging to occupied Kashmir and languishing in notorious jails of India is rising as the occupying forces continue picking up people illegally and making them disappeared.
There are also scores of All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders who have been illegally kept in different jails of India and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
An APHC spokesman in a statement today said that the freedom-loving people of Kashmir have been facing the worst type of Indian state terrorism for decades.
The spokesman urged the United Nations Human Rights Council and other rights organizations to visit the occupied Kashmir and monitor the situation where people are also being imprisoned in their houses, having no right to talk and walk freely in the territory.
The people of occupied Kashmir have been asking for the implementation of the UN resolutions to give them the right to self-determination. However, the international community has not only failed to ensure the right to the people but also remain a silent spectator to the atrocities being perpetrated by the occupying forces in the disputed area.
