Pak provide second consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav on India request

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has provided second time consular acces to Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav on Thursday (today) upon indian request Under the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations (VCCR) 1963, said in a statement released by Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ spokesperson office.

According to the press release, first consular access were provided on 2 September 2019 under the VCCR. While, 25 December 2017 the mother and wife of Kulbhushan were also allowed to meet him, added in the statement.

As per the statement, two consular officers of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad have been provided “unimpeded” and “uniterrupted” consular access to Indian commander captivated by Pakistan at 3:00 PST.

Moreover, Pakistan intelligence agencies had arrested Indian Commander Kulbhushan from Balochistan in counter-intelligence operation on 3 March 2016. During investigation commander Jadhav had confessed to his involvement in terrorist activities inside in Pakistan.

Pakistan committment to fully implement the International Court of Justice judgement of 17 July 2019, said in the statement.
