Pakistan All Out for 167, Sets South Africa Target of 277
LAHORE: In the ongoing Lahore Test, Pakistan was bowled out for 167 in their second innings, setting South Africa a target of 277 runs to win.
Earlier, South Africa was dismissed for 269 in their first innings, giving Pakistan a lead of 109 runs, thanks to a brilliant bowling display by Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan.
In the second innings, Pakistan struggled with the bat. Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed without scoring, while captain Shan Masood could not resist for long and was given out LBW after a DRS review. Babar Azam top-scored with 42 runs, followed by Abdullah Shafiq with 41 and Saud Shakeel with 38.
After the tea break, Mohammad Rizwan fell for 14, caught by Simon Harmer on the third ball. Shaheen Afridi was dismissed for a duck, adding just one run to the total. Nauman Ali made 11, Sajid Khan 1, and Salman Ali Agha 4.
South Africa’s spin duo Methuswami and Harmer were the main wicket-takers, claiming five and four wickets respectively. In South Africa’s innings, Zorzi was the top scorer with 104 runs. Pakistan’s Nauman Ali took six wickets, Sajid Khan three, and Salman Ali Agha one.
Pakistan’s first innings had posted 378 runs, leaving the match finely poised as South Africa now needs 277 runs to secure victory.
