Pakistan condemns Israeli airstrike on camp in ‘safe zone’

Foreign Office spokesperson says killing innocent people in refugee camp is against international laws.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrike on a camp set up in an area declared as safe zone, that left 40 Palestinians dead.

As many as 40 innocent Palestinian people including children and women were killed and scores of others injured in the Israeli attack on the camp in Gaza.

At her weekly press briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that Pakistan strongly condemns the attack by Israeli forces and calls for the international community to stop Israeli attacks.

The spokesperson said that the attack and killing of innocent people in the Al-Mawasi camp in the safe zone was against international laws.

Since October 2023, Israeli forces have killed over 41000 people in Gaza besides displacing the whole 22 million population of the area.

The Zionist state has been openly violating human rights by targeting even hospitals and refugee camps. Despite repeated calls for ceasefire, the Israeli government has continued its barbarism on Palestinians.
