Pakistan, Lebanon Agree to Strengthen Military Cooperation

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Rodolphe Haykal at the General Headquarters (GHQ), where both sides agreed to enhance defense cooperation and strengthen military ties.

Upon arrival at GHQ, the Lebanese Army chief was presented with a guard of honor. During the meeting, the two military leaders held detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, regional security, and avenues for expanding bilateral defense collaboration.

Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized the long-standing friendly relations between Pakistan and Lebanon, reaffirming that the Pakistan Army remains committed to enhancing defense cooperation and professional military linkages.

The Lebanese Army chief praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability.

Both sides also discussed opportunities to expand training cooperation, institutional linkages, and strategic defense partnerships.

The visit is being seen as a significant step toward further strengthening military relations between the two countries.
