Pakistan Navy Successfully Test-Fires Indigenous Cruise Missile

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy has successfully conducted a test of its indigenously developed air-to-surface cruise missile “Taimur,” demonstrating enhanced operational capability at sea.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the missile was fired from air towards a sea-based target and accurately hit its intended objective, showcasing precision targeting and operational readiness.

The successful test reaffirms Pakistan Navy’s capability to detect and engage targets at long ranges in the maritime domain. Officials termed the development a significant addition to the country’s defense capabilities.

The navy reiterated its commitment to safeguarding national maritime interests and territorial waters, adding that the successful firing has further strengthened the armed forces’ integrated defense capabilities.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf congratulated the scientists and engineers on achieving this milestone.
