Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan shares a deep and trusted friendship with China and wants to maintain equally strong relations with the United States.
In an interview with Al Arabiya TV, Dar described China as an “iron brother” and emphasized the strength of Pakistan-China relations. At the same time, he said Pakistan is open to building better ties with the U.S. and would warmly welcome a visit from President Donald Trump.
Dar stated that if the U.S. is willing to mediate, Pakistan is ready to engage in dialogue with India. However, he noted that peace cannot be achieved by one side alone.
“We are a peace-loving nation,” he said. “We do not seek conflict with any country, but mutual effort is needed to resolve issues.”
On the Kashmir dispute, Dar stressed that a solution should be based on United Nations resolutions. He said resolving the issue could open up major economic opportunities for the entire region.
Dar also highlighted Pakistan’s close and friendly relations with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. On the Israel-Iran tensions, he said Pakistan supports a peaceful, diplomatic resolution.
Regarding Palestine, Dar reaffirmed support for a two-state solution and said that resolving the conflict is essential for lasting peace. He urged more countries to officially recognize Palestine and voiced full support for the upcoming France-Saudi Arabia conference on the issue, taking place in New York on July 28–29.
Finally, he called on both the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take meaningful steps toward resolving global conflicts.
