ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to accelerate ongoing welfare initiatives and development plans for overseas Pakistanis, describing them as a valuable national asset.
The directive came during a meeting with Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Board of Governors Chairman Syed Qamar Raza and Managing Director Afzal Bhatti.
The meeting focused on measures being taken to address the concerns of Pakistanis living abroad and improve services provided through the foundation.
The prime minister said overseas Pakistanis play a vital role in strengthening the country’s economy through their remittances and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing their welfare.
Officials also briefed the prime minister on future plans aimed at expanding facilities and support for overseas Pakistanis.
The prime minister expressed satisfaction with the foundation’s ongoing efforts and instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive strategy to further improve services and speed up implementation of welfare initiatives.
