ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to equip law enforcement agencies with the best equipment and modern technology to effectively address evolving security challenges.
Chairing a high-level meeting on law and order and the affairs of the Ministry of Interior, the prime minister emphasized that all available resources must be utilized to enhance the capacity of security institutions and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
He further instructed that personnel should be provided with modern training and skills to deal with emerging security threats. Stressing accountability, the prime minister called for strict implementation of a zero-tolerance policy against corruption within law enforcement agencies.
The meeting was briefed by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on the performance and future development plans of key institutions, including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Islamabad Police, National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Federal Constabulary, and the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
Officials informed the meeting that a new jail under construction in Islamabad is expected to become operational by September this year.
The session was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, as well as federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, and senior officials from various law enforcement agencies.
