PM Shehbaz Heads to Hangzhou for Four-Day China Visit

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for China on a four-day official visit, beginning with his arrival in Hangzhou.

He is accompanied by a high-level delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, Minister for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

During his stay in Hangzhou, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet the Party Secretary of Zhejiang Province and attend a business forum aimed at enhancing cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese companies under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He will also witness the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding.

The Prime Minister is expected to hold meetings with chief executives of leading Chinese companies, including a visit to the headquarters of Alibaba Group, to explore avenues for further collaboration.

In the next phase of the visit, the Prime Minister will travel to Beijing, where he is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. He will also participate in events marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will visit the China Academy of Agricultural Sciences and engage with business leaders to further strengthen economic ties.

Officials say the visit is expected to open new avenues of cooperation, particularly under CPEC Phase-II, and further deepen the longstanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
