ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake an official visit to China next month to discuss bilateral relations and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
According to sources, progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will be a key item on the agenda during the visit. The prime minister is expected to hold high-level meetings with Chinese leadership, focusing on accelerating ongoing projects and exploring new avenues of collaboration.
During the visit, regional and global developments will also come under discussion, including the evolving situation in the Middle East and ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran.
Officials said that both sides are likely to deliberate on expanding cooperation in key sectors such as industry, agriculture, and the establishment of special economic zones. There is also a possibility of new agreements and investment deals being finalized during the trip.
The visit is expected to further strengthen economic ties, boost bilateral trade, and expedite the pace of CPEC-related projects, which remain central to Pakistan’s development strategy.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Office has initiated preparations and is finalizing the schedule for the prime minister’s upcoming visit.
