Seven Officials Martyred In Terror Attack on Police School

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A major terrorist attack on the Police Training Center in Dera Ismail Khan ended after a decisive clearance operation, leaving six militants dead, seven police officers martyred, and thirteen others injured.

The attack occurred late at night at the Ratta Kalachi training school when extremists from the group Fitna-ul-Khawarij launched a heavily armed assault. Militants first rammed a truck laden with explosives into the school’s gate, collapsing part of the wall and killing one officer trapped under the debris.

Following this, attackers disguised in different uniforms infiltrated the premises and opened fire with heavy weapons, killing another officer who bravely engaged them.

The firefight, which involved continuous grenade attacks, lasted several hours. District Police Officer (DPO) Sahibzada Sajjad Ahmed promptly reached the scene with reinforcements and took command of the operation, effectively cordoning off the area.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Syed Ashfaq Anwar joined the frontline, boosting the morale of the officers.

After more than three hours of intense combat, police and security forces eliminated six militants and recovered suicide vests, explosives, weapons, and ammunition from their possession.

Authorities praised the courage, professionalism, and resilience of the police and security forces, who successfully neutralized the attackers and safeguarded the training facility.
