ISLAMABAD: A prominent religious scholar, Maulana Muhammad Idrees Tarangzai, was martyred in an attack in Charsadda, sparking widespread condemnation from the country’s leadership.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed deep grief over the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He prayed for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks and stated that such cowardly acts of terrorism cannot weaken the nation’s resolve.
The President reaffirmed that Pakistan remains committed to eradicating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed profound sorrow and sympathy with the victim’s family. In his statement, he prayed for the departed soul and wished a speedy recovery for police personnel injured in the attack.
Both leaders reiterated that the fight against terrorism will continue with full determination and that those responsible will be brought to justice.
