RAWALPINDI: Jailed PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has announced to end his party’s talks with the government.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, while talking to the media, said that the founder of the party had announced the end to the talks.

Talking to the media Mr Gauhar said the government was supposed to form a commission to probe into May 9 and November 36 incidents but so far there was no progress on it.

“Today, I and other lawyers met the founder of PTI, who clarified that the commission has not been formed so we are ending the negotiations with the government.”

He added: “We wanted the talks to continue and things to move forward, but political differences are so deep that it is not possible to continue the parleys. Sadly, there has been no announcement from the government to form a commission.”

They said If the commission is to be formed, the members should be from three senior judges of the Supreme Court or High Court. We will continue our struggle in accordance with the Constitution and the law, for independent judiciary and against the 26th Amendment, he said:

He also quoted party founder Imran Khan as saying that hus party was not looking to any  foreign help, we will start a struggle together with all political parties.

It may be recalled that Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub had also said yesterday that the talks would not move forward if the government did not announce the judicial commission.

On the other hand, Rana Sanaullah, a member of the government negotiation committee and adviser to the prime minister on political affairs, said the government committee will submit a written response to PTI’s demands in a couple of days.
