ISLAMABAD: At a meeting with Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi on Friday, PTI leaders piled up complaints against the government and said they were not being allowed to meet their jailed party founder Imran Khan.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, PTI leader Omar Ayub said, “In the last jail trial, they had taken permission from Imran Khan to meet the chief justice. Today we met the CJP and discussed with him the cases against the PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bini. He was told that the dates of cases of the founder PTI and Bushra Bibi were kept changing changed and the timings of meeting with him also changed despite court orders.”
He said that the chief justice was also told that lawyers were not allowed to meet Imran Khan.
Salman Akram Raja informed the chief justice about the issue of missing persons and complained that police were being used against the PTI in Punjab.
He said the situation in Balochistan was also placed before the chief justice. Moreover, PTI founder Imran Khan’s letters on the issue of May 9 and November 26 were also mentioned. Apart from this, the issue of production order of lawmakers was also raised. We also informed the chief justice about the intimidation of lawyers and fake FIRs against them.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said there was also discussion on the dossier provided to the chief justice. He was told that our cases were not being heard. The chief justice was also told how PTI legislators were forcibly picked up. The chief justice assured the PTI leaders that he would take steps to solve them.
