PTI may be banned, says minister

Imran's entire politics was done in lap of army and today he has suddenly decided to stand against it.

ISLAMABAD: The coalition government of Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM) is considering banning the PTI of Imran Khan after the May 9 incidents.

Talking to media persons here, Defense Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif said Imran Khan was yet to condemn the arson attacks by his party supporters in the wake of his brief arrest in a corruption case on May 9.

“A decision [to ban the PTI] has not been taken yet, but a review is surely underway,” he added.

The minister said the PTI challenged the foundation of the state by “challenging the defence installations” on May 9.

“Is there any crime that was not committed on May 9? The ISI office was attacked, they tried to enter the Cantonment in Sialkot but that attack was repulsed … they also set fire to the Lahore Corps Commander’s house.

“There is clarity amongst all of us that these things could be done by India but not by someone inside Pakistan,” he claimed.

“Imran Khan sees the army as his adversary,” Minister Asif said.

“His entire politics was done in the lap of the army and today he has suddenly decided to stand against it,” he observed.

“Whatever I am saying is being said by all the people leaving PTI.

“They have said that everything happened with planning. Infact, they were facilitated.”
