PTI decides to boycott parliament voting on amendment bill
Party says protest will be held against any member of PTI in Senate or National Assembly violating decision.
ISLAMABAD: The PTI party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that its lawmakers will boycott voting in Parliament on the 26th constitutional Amendment Bill today.
The PTI said that its political wing held a meeting and decided not to become part of the controversial 26th constitutional amendment bill. It said that those who have come to parliament by stealing the mandate of the people had no right to amend the constitution.
The PTI in a statement added that the illegitimate government and its allies were trying to change the constitution to gain more illegal powers besides jeopardizing the independence of the judiciary.
The National Assembly assembly and Senate of Pakistan are meeting this afternoon to pass the 26 constitutional amendment bill after all opposition parties except the PTI agreed to the amended draft bill last night.
Before the session of the national assembly and Senate the fiddle cabinet will approved the 26 Constitution Amendment after being brief by law minister last night.
