LAHORE: The Punjab government has further intensified emergency measures to improve air quality in the province.
Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb stated that falling temperatures and weak winds in Lahore have contributed to rising pollution levels.
The Anti-Smog Field Force has been assigned additional personnel for rapid action. The Environment Department has increased inspections in industrial zones, including night-time checks, and several factories emitting smoke have been sealed.
A Coordination Cell has been activated to reduce pollution flow from the northwestern industrial belt, while traffic police have launched a special anti-smog deployment in high-traffic areas.
These measures aim to control industrial emissions, manage traffic-related pollution, and protect public health amid worsening air quality in Lahore.
