Rain helps Pakistan in defeating New Zealand

Fakhar Zaman scores 126 runs and remains not out, awarded Rs100,000 by PCB.

BANGALURU: Pakistan was declared the winner against New Zealand by 21 runs under DLs method after rain washed the match and restricted the overs.

Batting first, New Zealand scored 401 runs for the loss of six wickets in allotted overs. In reply, Pakistan scored 200 runs for the loss of one wicket in 25.3 overs when the match was called off due to rain.

Fakhar Zaman was the lead batter who scored 126 runs and remained not out. He also made the fastest 100 in World Cup record in 63 balls. PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf announced Rs1 million award for Fakhar Zaman.
