RAWALPINDI: Under the World Peace Jirga programme, a rally was held at the Rawalpindi Press Club in support of Syed Asim Munir, where participants raised slogans in his favour.
The participants chanted slogans including “Long Live Pakistan Army,” “Long Live Asim Munir,” and “Long Live Pakistan,” and expressed the view that global tensions and the risk of conflict had been averted through his efforts.
They claimed that the United States and Iran were brought to the negotiating table for the first time in Islamabad, crediting Pakistan’s leadership for facilitating dialogue between the two sides. Speakers further stated that Pakistan’s international image had improved and previous negative propaganda against the country had failed.
The rally participants demanded that Syed Asim Munir be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in promoting peace and diplomacy.
