Murree: Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki met with former Prime Minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz here on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on enhancing economic cooperation, strengthening defense partnerships, and promoting unity within the Muslim Ummah.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to expand collaboration in key areas including joint military training, intelligence sharing, and strategic defense partnerships.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a bond rooted in mutual trust, shared values, and long-standing brotherhood.
She added that maintaining close and consistent consular-level engagement with Saudi Arabia is a top priority for the Punjab government. She also expressed hope for Saudi support in finalizing the GCC Free Trade Agreement.
Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz conveyed their best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and expressed deep respect and goodwill for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen the historical, political, economic, and defense relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also stated that Saudi Arabia holds a unique spiritual and emotional significance for every Muslim. She lauded King Salman’s leadership as a symbol of hope, dignity, and progress for the Muslim world, and highlighted that Saudi Arabia remains a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
She acknowledged the constructive role of Saudi leadership in promoting peace in the region, adding that despite Indian aggression, Pakistan remains committed to resolving issues through dialogue
