ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Saudi Arabia is an advocate of inter-faith harmony and Muslim unity in the world.
The president stressed the need for further boosting ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in different fields. The president was speaking at a function held at the Saudi embassy on the occasion of the 94 National Day of Saudi Arabia.
He said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have collaborated and jointly worked at difficult times. They have been close friends and partners because of their strong bond of the religion of Islam.
He thanked Saudi Arabia for its continued support to Pakistan as well as hosting nearly 2.7 million Pakistanis, who were making contributions to the Kingdom’s social and economic development.
The president expressed felicitation to King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the people of Saudi Arabia on the national day.
President Zardari, Punjab Chief Minister Mariam Nawaz, officials and politicians attended the function held at the embassy of Saudi Arabia in Islamabad.
The president along with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia cut a cake on the occasion and expressed his best wishes for the king, the crown prince and the people of Saudi Arabia on the National Day of their country.
