JEDDAH: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement to organize and manage the Hajj pilgrimage for the year 2026.
The signing ceremony took place in Jeddah, where Saudi Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah and Pakistan’s Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs, Dr. Syed Atta ur Rehman, formally signed the deal.
The event was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Director General Hajj Jeddah Abdul Wahab Soomro, Director Hajj Makkah Azizullah Khan, Director Hajj Madinah Zia ur Rehman, Deputy Secretary Hajj Policy Chaudhry Kashif Hussain, and representatives from the private Hajj organizers’ association, HOAP.
Dr. Atta ur Rehman thanked the Saudi government for its continued support and excellent services provided to pilgrims, known as Zuyuf al-Rahman (Guests of the Most Merciful). He expressed confidence that, like previous years, Pakistani pilgrims would again receive top-quality facilities during Hajj 2026.
He also said that Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs is fully committed to completing all arrangements for both the government and private Hajj schemes in a timely and efficient manner, in line with Saudi Arabia’s guidelines.
