ISLAMABAD: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) of Saudi Arabia has dispatched a large convoy of relief goods to support flood-affected communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A ceremony to mark the dispatch was held in Islamabad, attended by Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Maliki, KSRelief Director Abdullah Al-Baqami, representatives of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and other senior officials.
The assistance package includes 10,000 shelter kits and 10,000 food packages. Each shelter kit comprises solar panels with LED lights, blankets, plastic mats, kitchen sets, water coolers, and soaps.
The food packages contain wheat flour, sugar, cooking oil, pulses, and other essential items. The goods were formally handed over to the NDMA for onward distribution in flood-affected areas.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Rana Sanaullah expressed deep gratitude to the Saudi leadership for standing by Pakistan in difficult times. He said the generous support from KSRelief is a “testament to the exemplary friendship and brotherhood between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.”
Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Maliki conveyed condolences on behalf of the Saudi government over the loss of lives and property in the recent floods. He reaffirmed Riyadh’s solidarity with the flood-hit population and assured Pakistan of continued assistance.
Officials noted that the initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s sustained commitment to humanitarian cooperation with Pakistan. Over the years, KSRelief has carried out numerous projects across the country in food security, healthcare, education, and disaster response.
