Second wave of COVID19 in Pak: NCOC made compulsory wearing a face mask
ISLAMABAD: During the second wave of Corona in Pakistan, the epidemic is spreading rapidly in 11 major cities including Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, the National Command and Operations Center has alarmed on Wednesday.
A meeting of the National Command and Operations Senator (NCOC) was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Home Affairs, Health Secretary and other officials while representatives of the four provinces attended the meeting through video link.
NCOC meeting was briefed on the implementation of the new strategy, Corona SOPs in view of the second wave of Corona.
It was informed in the briefing that Corona epidemic is spreading rapidly in 11 cities including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur and Gilgit are also among the affected cities, 4,374 places with population of more than 36,000 are locked down.
The NCOC has made it mandatory for citizens to wear masks when leaving their homes across the country, and for those working in all government and private sector offices. The NCOC directed all the provinces to implement SOPs and masks.
The NCOC says the epidemic is spreading rapidly in 11 cities across the country, with provincial governments ensuring compliance with the requirement to wear anti-Corona SOPs and masks in major city markets, shopping malls, public transport and restaurants.
