ISLAMABAD: A team from the International Monetary Fund has arrived in Islamabad to hold talks with the government on climate related funding to Pakistan.
The Ministry of Finance said that the IMF delegation will hold talks with provinces as well as the federal government.
The discussions will focus on IMF Green Budgeting Climate and Climate Change Tracking and Reporting. The delegation will also discuss climate budgeting projects.
Pakistan is expected to receive $1.5 billion to combat the effects of climate change.
The government has formally requested climate change. For the last many years, Pakistan has seen devastating floods caused by climate change phenomena and faced losses amounting to billions of dollars.
