MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Kashmir’s Finance Minister Abdul Majid Khan and Food Minister Chaudhry Akbar Ibrahim have tendered their resignations amid escalating political tensions.

In a joint press conference, the ministers announced their decision with Abdul Majid Khan accusing Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq of orchestrating a well-planned move to abolish 12 refugee seats. Khan held the Prime Minister personally responsible for this controversial decision.

He stated that under the current circumstances, they could no longer support the government, adding that continuing to work under Anwar-ul-Haq’s leadership would be a betrayal of the state.

Chaudhry Akbar Ibrahim criticized the Prime Minister’s administration, alleging that the Prime Minister’s House has been inaccessible to the public and that critical files have been stalled for months. Ibrahim also questioned why the Action Committee has yet to demand the Prime Minister’s resignation and urged Anwar-ul-Haq to step down without delay.
