KARACHI: A federal minister here on Sunday urged the United Nations agencies to fulfill their commitment of repatriating Afghan refugees or shifting them to another country.
Addressing the Afghan refugees in Karachi, Minister for States and Frontier Regions Amir Muqam said it was promised that the Afghan refugees would be shifted to another country. He said those Afghanis who were living illegally in the country would have to leave Pakistan.
Amir Muqam said that around three million Afghans had been hosted in the country for over four decades.
Meanwhile, the government of Punjab has directed all Afghan nationals in the province to get validated their Afghan Citizen Cards and visas by April 1, 2025, otherwise they would be deported.
