UNSC unanimously passes Pakistan’s peace resolution

Resolution presented by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, currently serving as President of UNSC.

NEW YORK: The United Nations Security Council has unanimously approved a resolution from Pakistan calling for the peaceful resolution of international conflicts.

The resolution was presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who is currently serving as President of the Security Council.

The resolution urges all UN member countries to solve disputes through peaceful means such as dialogue, diplomacy, and mediation. It also calls for early action to prevent conflicts and for full respect of UN resolutions and international law.

In his speech to the Council, Ishaq Dar raised the Kashmir issue and strongly criticized India for suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, which he described as illegal and harmful for millions of Pakistanis.

He also highlighted the crisis in Gaza, saying that over 58,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in recent Israeli attacks. He called for an immediate ceasefire and long-term peace.

Ishaq Dar proposed a five-point approach for resolving global conflicts. He called for rebuilding trust in the United Nations, fair application of Security Council resolutions, better regional cooperation, full respect for international law, and more effective use of the UN Secretary-General’s office.

He thanked all Security Council members for supporting the resolution and said that peaceful solutions are not only a principle but a global necessity.
