Urdu Academy holds musical event in Barcelona
Dedicated to women on International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women held on November 25.
BARCELONA: Urdu Academy Barcelona arranged a musical event at the Civic Centre here and attributed it to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women held on November 25.
A large number of people belonging to Pakistan, India and Barcelona attended the event.
Saher Sheikh did the compering in Urdu and Marsella in Spanish languages on the occasion.
Pakistani poetess Dr Irum Batool and Dr Sundas presented their poems which were translated into Spanish by journalist Elexendra.
Popular Indian vocalist Raj Nandni received accolades by rendering Urdu ghazal with Rohit on tabla, Santosh on harmonium and Clavida on harmonium. Nooria Kabu presented Kathak dance on verses of Amir Khusraw and Gulzar.
Pakistan’s Consul General Murad Wazir Ali Khan was chief guest at the event.
