US-based Pakistani businessman donates 9m dollars for NUST
Amount will be given as scholarships ti deserving students.
ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani business tycoon based in the United States of America has announced a donation of nine million dollars for the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad.
Sources in the university said that the amount would be given as scholarships to deserving students of the university.
They said that the scholarships through the endowment fund of the businessmen Tanvir Ahmed would be given to 200 deserving students.
It is so far the largest donation given yo any university in Pakistan. Tanvir Ahmed said that he planned to expand the scholarship fund to other universities in Pakistan.
It may be mentioned here that Tanvir Ahmed had also donated 50 million dollars for the affected people of the devastating floods of 2022 in Pakistan.
Tanvir Ahmed had gone to the US as a student and started his career by working in a restaurant in the US.
