ISLAMABAD: The World Bank has approved a $300 million loan for reducing air pollution in Punjab.
According to a statement issued by the World Bank, the loan will be provided under the Punjab Clean Air Program.
The World Bank stated that the loan amount will be spent on reducing air pollution in Punjab, strengthening the provincial government’s Smog Mitigation Action Plan.
The Country Director of the World Bank said that the Punjab Clean Air Program supports the plan to reduce smog and is a significant effort to improve the health and well-being of millions of citizens.
The World Bank further stated that the Punjab Clean Air Program aligns with the new Country Partnership Framework. It will help protect 13 million residents of the Lahore division from diseases related to air pollution.
