WORKSHOPS: A GREAT WAY TO ENHANCE SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE

ISLAMABAD: Two day workshop on Mobile Journalism was organized by an Individual land at SCBAP Complex Islamabad on Oct 28-29, 2020. Individual land is an innovative research based consultancy and advocacy group working since 2007.

However, their objective is to give direction to Youth and empower them. Their major thematic area is MEDIA.

The topics covered in the Workshop includes: “Beginning of Mobile Journalism” “Advantages and Disadvantages of MOJO” “Agenda and Propaganda in the News Story” “How to do a balance Reporting”, “Elements in News Story that make it worth watching” and mandatory shots to keep in mind while doing videography or making documentary, film etc.

In each session, participants worked on hands-on exercises, which imparted practical knowledge about
these topics beyond the level usually available to these students.
In the feedback, many students noted that the exercises were tremendously involved, with the analyses they
worked on being more intricate than expected and requiring expert knowledge of the tools being applied.

Generally, participants felt more confident in dealing with analyses of the course data as expert facilitators
guided them. I believe that this form of learning workshops must be organized because it is particularly beneficial for the advancement of Media Student’s careers, as many find that they gain greater experience, enhanced skills and more confidence at the end of this session.
