GUJRANWALA: Authorities in Punjab have identified 191 illegal housing societies in Gujranwala and published a complete list to warn the public against investing in unapproved projects.
The Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA) released the list on its official website, stating that these housing schemes have not obtained mandatory approvals required before selling plots.
According to the GDA, all private housing societies must secure formal approval from the authority prior to launching or marketing any residential plots. However, the listed projects failed to meet legal requirements.
Some of the societies included in the list are Allama Iqbal Town Phase I, Estate Life Cooperative Housing Scheme, Al-Karam City, Taj Garden, Al-Musawir City, Al-Buraq Garden, Gujranwala Homes, City Residencia, Green Park, Abdullah Gardens, and Rehman City.
Several other schemes such as Aghosh Housing Scheme, Aurangzeb Town, Hamza Town, Usama Park, Falak City, Ahmed City, Smart Homes, and Shahryar Town are also among those declared illegal.
Officials warned citizens to verify the legal status of housing projects before making any investments to avoid financial loss or fraud.
It is worth noting that similar crackdowns in recent months have uncovered hundreds of illegal housing schemes in other major cities, including Lahore and Islamabad.
