ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference case.
A two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard Nawaz Sharif’s plea for exemption from attendance in the Azizia reference, citing arguments of former PM’s counsel Khawaja Harris and NAB prosecutor.
The court reserved judgment on the completion of the arguments of the parties, which was pronounced some time later. However, the court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for the former prime minister for persistent absenteeism.
Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued an arrest warrant for September 22 and ordered to produce the former prime minister, after which the process of declaring former prime minister Nawaz Sharif a fugitive began.
