ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday has removed the names of 5,807 people included in the blacklist. The Home Minister had taken notice of the difficulties faced by the citizens due to their names in the blacklist.
The review committee met almost four years later to review the Interior Ministry’s blacklist on the instructions of Interior Minister Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Shah. In which the names of 42,725 persons included in the category B of the blacklist were reviewed keeping in view the merit and rules and regulations.
After detailed deliberations in consultation with the Interior Ministry, police, law enforcement agencies and other relevant agencies, the review committee approved the removal of 5,807 names from the blacklist on merit.
Taking note of the difficulties faced by the citizens due to their names in the blacklist, the Home Minister directed the DG Immigration and Passports to review the cases on merit and convene a regular review committee twice a year.
