ISLAMABAD: The crescent of Shawwal was sighted on Tuesday evening after which the Ruet Hilal Committee announced that Eidul Fitr will be celebrated in Pakistan on Wednesday.
The announcement was announced by Chairman of the Committee Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad in Islamabad.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the meetings of Zonal Committees were held in the provincial capitals.
It is very rare that Eid is being celebrated across Pakistan the same day. This year, Eid is also being celebrated in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. However, the Shawwal moon was not sighted in India and Bangladesh where Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Thursday.
But people in the occupied Kashmir are celebrating Eidul Fitr with Pakistan on Wednesday. After the announcement by the committee, announcements were made in mosques in occupied Kashmir to celebrate the Eid on Wednesday.
